At redline, leave the gas pedal on the floor and shift as quickly as you can. It takes some getting used to, but it can allow for lighting fast acceleration accompanied by race-car sound effects when the ignition cut generates a series of loud 'pops' from the tailpipe.
It's all normal, and covered by a 160,000-kilometer warranty, by the way. You can use it as much as you like too, since GM's performance vehicle engineers have built it strong enough to withstand regular beatings. Hooligans.
